We are delighted to announce that the Parkhaven Trust Catering Team have been nominated for a National Care Home Catering Magazine Award, in the category of; Care Home Catering Team of the Year.

Our dedicated catering team not only plan, prepare and cook the meals for our residents, they will also assist and in some cases feed our residents. Many of our residents have complex needs and need that extra support at meal times to ensure their safety and also to ensure mealtimes are more enjoyable, our catering team will join existing care staff and sit with and chat to our residents.

Our team regularly use special days such as birthdays and anniversary’s as well as themed days such as pancake day, fish and chip supper days, Halloween days as an excuse to cook special themed meals and make meal time extra special. This greatly contributes to our residents sense of wellbeing and positivity. We fully understand the importance of good nutrition and hydration – to enable our residents to feel their best and get the best out of their day. These themed ‘party’ mealtimes involve catering teams, care teams and residents – creating a family atmosphere. All adding to our resident’s quality of life. They create a ‘buzz’ around mealtimes which helps encourage those with low appetites – but who need to eat more, to engage, join in and better enjoy their food.

Our catering team work closely with local farmers and producers – they cook all our meals from scratch on site, using only the freshest seasonal produce.

The Awards winners will be announced via social media on 12th November 2020! (we have our fingers crossed!)
