Foodbank alternative with lots of food to take home and a special treat the first week with demonstration from Chef James Holden.
Monday 5th February, then every other week after this at 11am-12noon at The Willow Centre at Parkhaven Trust Maghull.
As well as plenty of food to take home, on the 5th Feb, Chef James Holden will be sharing his culinary skills with us by demonstrating how to cook an easy, healthy recipe.
Working in a local restaurant in Southport part time whilst studying, James up-root and headed to London to work at the world famous Savoy Hotel. Continuing to climb the career ladder having spells with Trust House Forte hotels and then Gleneagles in Scotland, James then spent time at a private hospital in Windsor to gain dietary knowledge which would later be beneficial in his more senior roles.
Gaining his first senior Head Chef role in 1986, James gained a reputation as one of the North West notable chefs. He frequently was asked to guest judge local college competitions and do masterclass sessions with the training chefs for the future! He also led his brigade to achieve recognition for quality food with AA rosettes. James has experienced working in Michelin starred restaurants both at home and abroad, always looking to enhance his knowledge. James became a Masterchef in 1991, studying to reach the high accolade of being just one of 11 chefs in UK to achieve that status in that year!
James has worked in establishments around the world, in particular France and Switzerland as a private chef for corporate clients, and then in Michelin starred restaurant in New York, London and Preston! James Has also had the privilege to be chosen to cook for the royal family, particularly for the queens Jubilee, when he was actually presented to the Queen afterwards, a proud moment in his career.
James was accepted into the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Association in the year 2009, and is proud to have been invited to be a member of such an illustrious collection of the UK`s leading chefs. Heston Blumenthal, Brian Turner, Albert Roux, Michel Roux, Gary Rhodes, Raymond Blanc just to name a few.
