We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in our application to the P.H. Holt Foundation for a grant to purchase a ‘Magic Table’ for use by our residents and service users.

The ‘Magic Table’  is a mobile, interactive motion-activated projector device/table that can be used to project onto tables and floors. This device will give our residents and service users a  truly interactive experience.

The Magic Table has been designed for use by people who have dementia. It has a range of important benefits including:

  • 90% of respondents stated they’d seen a positive impact on residents’ physical ability, participation and movements.

Emotional Well being – encompassing emotional and psychological aspects of well being.

The Magic Table is an uplifting resource that creates a positive atmosphere. Smiles, laughter and enjoyment.

  • 75% of respondents believing the Magic Table has helped their most withdrawn residents.

Reminiscence & Nostalgia – finding ways to feel a sense of belonging and familiarity

Many residents who began a session fairly uncommunicative become animated, talking about their memories and past experiences prompted by the Magic Table activity.
