Parkhaven Trust has fought off stiff competition from across the UK to be announced;

National Care Home’s Catering Team of the Year!

Parkhaven Trust’s dedicated catering team not only plan, prepare and cook the meals for the residents and day centre clients, they also personally assist clients at meal times. Many of our service users have dementia and require extra support at meal times to ensure their safety and wellbeing and to ensure that they eat a nutritious meal in an enjoyable environment.

Jacqui Orr, Catering Team Manager said:

“The team regularly use special days such as birthdays and anniversaries as well as themed days such as pancake day, fish and chip supper days and Halloween as an excuse to cook special themed meals and make meal time extra special.

This greatly contributes to our client’s sense of wellbeing and positivity. The team fully understand the importance of good nutrition and hydration to enable our clients to feel their best and get the best out of their day. These themed ‘party’ mealtimes involve the whole staff and clients – creating a family atmosphere, which adds to our client’s quality of life. We create a ‘buzz’ around mealtimes which helps encourage those with low appetites who need to eat more, to engage, join in and better enjoy their food.

We are delighted to have been awarded this title! The team work very hard and it’s great to get recognition for this!”

Parkhaven Trust work closely with local suppliers – they cook all meals from scratch on site, using only the freshest seasonal produce.
