Our very own hero – Brian Felton, 86, who lives with us at our James Page House service has this week been reminiscing about receiving the British Empire Medal  from the Queen back in the 60’s!

Brian received this prestigious award in recognition of his bravery as a Police Constable for diving in to the river Mersey to save the life of a woman who was floating face down in the river.

Brian’s heroic acts didn’t stop there, as he chatted with staff at James Page about his career in the Police Force he recalled other awards for bravery including a letter from the Prime Minister for apprehending armed robbers in a bank in Liverpool. In his box of memorabilia put together by his proud family there are also so many newspaper cuttings to read. All these photos, cuttings and letters are a huge help to aid memories of an amazing life.
