Twenty-five years ago, The White House opened its doors with a simple aim: to be a home where people with learning disabilities could live, grow, and be valued for exactly who they are. Today The White House is a community full of friendship, laughter, and shared memories.
Over the years, service users have planted gardens, discovered new hobbies, learned important life skills, and built lifelong relationships. Families have become part of our extended community, often commenting on how the care staff at The White House are an extension of their own families.
None of this would be possible without the extraordinary people who work here. Over 25 years, our staff have brought compassion, creativity, and unwavering dedication to every shift. They have been teachers, encouragers, problem-solvers, and friends. Their commitment has created an environment where residents feel safe, supported, and empowered to live their best lives. Continuity of care has been led by the Service Manager, Ann West who has been inspiring the team at The White House for all of those 25 years. Ann is a truly dedicated leader, she has created a culture of love, care and happiness.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also honour the families who have trusted us, the professionals who have supported us, and the community that has welcomed us. The White House is a home that is truly special.
Here’s to 25 years of memories—
and to all the new ones still to come.
