Volunteer with Us
I love coming to the Willow Centre at Parkhaven Trust because I love being with people and giving them happy days....I love working with the staff, we all have a good laugh and work as a team....
Jenny - Volunteer at the Willow Centre
We do a number of activities with our residents…bingo, recollection, quizzes, card making and art. Coffee mornings are great for a chat! I feel that giving a few hours a week is extremely rewarding. Come and join us, bring new ideas and really make a difference.

Volunteering is about giving your time to do something useful or meaningful for someone else. Volunteers here at Parkhaven Trust enrich the lives of our residents and service users on a daily basis.
Volunteering is not just about what you can do for others; you will get a lot out of the experience too. Volunteering can enrich your life by giving you the opportunity to develop your skills, improve your confidence and make new friends. Volunteering can also give your CV a boast and fill gaps in your work experience.
There is a vast range of volunteering opportunities available:
- Assist with activities e.g. reading, knitting, scrabble, arts & crafts, walks & outings;
- Gardening and ground work;
- Horticulture e.g. assisting at the nursery, orchard or greenhouse;
- Or simply spending time with someone….
The biggest problem for many people is finding the time to volunteer; no matter how many hours you have to spare, you will be offered the opportunity to put your time to good use on a day that suits you.
Training will be provided for all volunteers but a caring nature and an interest in those who use our services is essential.
