Summer Garden Parties - August 2015
The idea of having garden parties came from service users and staff remembering Parkhaven Summer fayres fondly. Our garden parties in August were on a much smaller scale but were enjoyed immensely by all. We were very fortunate to have two lovely sunny afternoons. On Saturday 8th August at Harrison House, residents were joined by family members and by service users from Parkhaven Court and Westover Close. On Sunday 9th August, Kyffin Taylor House residents were joined by James Page House residents and their families.
At both parties everyone enjoyed tea and cakes in the garden, whilst listening to music by volunteers Cameron and Michael on guitar and saxophone and singer Tina Riley. There was also tombola and games such as hoopla and hook a duck, some craft items made by service users and plants from the Haven were for sale. It was lovely to see so many family members at the garden parties and to see so many service users enjoying themselves.
A really big thank you from me to all the staff and volunteers who helped in so many ways; setting up, serving drinks and cakes, running games and helping service users to access and enjoy the garden parties.
