Services for Older People with dementia

The Trust provides a range of services for people with dementia. It has a residential home (The Kyffin Taylor) providing long and short term care for people with dementia. It also has a day service called the Willow Centre.

Set in beautiful surroundings, Kyffin-Taylor is a 5* rated home that offers permanent and respite care for 28 older people with dementia. We plan to improve and extend the home next year.

Aims
We aim to provide the highest possible quality of personal care and daily living tasks to support individuals in a homely and safe environment.

Values
Every resident is valued as an individual and their privacy and dignity is respected at all times. We promote independence by encouraging and supporting residents' choices and preferences.

Staff
All staff members at Kyffin-Taylor House are fully trained, with a good understanding of older people's needs particularly those who have dementia.

Facilities
Kyffin-Taylor has call facilities in all the bedrooms and communal areas. There is also a lift.  All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the bathrooms and shower facilities are equipped to a high standard to suit all levels of ability and provide all levels of care.

We have an in-house activity co-ordinator who visits the home three times a week and provides a structured activity programme.

An in-house laundry service is provided (excluding dry cleaning).

A hairdresser attends weekly and a chiropodist, district nurse and dental service are available when required. Daily newspapers can be ordered.

Meals
The home has a full-time chef, whose home cooked meals offer variety and choice. Special dietary requirements are catered for.

Meal times are displayed in each home. However drinks and snacks are always available.

Healthcare
Close links are maintained with local GPs and their care teams.

Spiritual Guidance
Residents' religious preferences are important and there are good links with local Church ministers who visit the home regularly.

Visitors
Visitors are always welcome. We actively encourage their participation and support.
