Making a donation or leaving a legacy

Parkhaven Trust is a registered charity (charity number: 210163). Charities like Parkhaven Trust rely on the generosity of people to enhance the quality of the experience and resources that we are able to offer. For example Parkhaven Trust has the unique gift of land which we are endeavouring to preserve for the benefit of those that live at Parkhaven and those that live in the local community. In order to maintain these grounds it does cost the charity a considerable amount. However it recognises the great joy and comfort that excellent accommodation and grounds can afford people.

Leaving a legacy

Leaving a legacy to a charitable organisation like ours is one of the most rewarding and long lasting gifts that many people can give. It is an opportunity to make a real difference long after you are gone.

You might think that making a Will is a long and complicated process but this is not the case. It is best to engage the services of a professional solicitor, who will prepare a Will that meets your individual needs for a pre-arranged fee. Your solicitor will also advise you on the legal aspects and tell you how to allocate funds to your chosen beneficiaries.

There are three main ways in which you can remember Parkhaven Trust:

1. leaving the residue, or part residue, of your estate after your dependants have been provided for
2. leaving a specified sum of money or
3. leaving a specified part of your estate to Parkhaven Trust

Changes in circumstances or heart can affect your assets and your intentions, so its best to keep your Will up to date. Small changes can be made easily by drafting an addition or alteration. A gift to a charity can be added to an existing Will by making an alteration or addition. This is often known as a codicil.
